What I offer
This section tells you more about the different services that I offer for individuals and the differences between them to help you choose what’s best for you and your situation.
Please take time to read over it and feel free to ask me questions when we speak if it is not clear.
I offer a free 20 minute telephone enquiry consultation before you book to help you decide if what I offer is right for you.
Counselling
There are many different approaches to counselling and psychotherapy. This is because just as people are different, the difficulties they face are varied, complex, and for some traumatic. There is no one approach that suits every person or situation but what is important is the quality of the relationship you have with the counsellor or therapist.
The counselling I offer is focused on offering you a safe, confidentiality space to help you understand, manage and overcome the changes and challenges you are experiencing in middle and later life. These may be unexpected, sudden and possibly traumatic events, or more general, and often unwelcome, life-stage changes that are causing difficulties such as changes in roles, identities or responsibilities, retirement, illness and ageing.
My approach aims to give you space and time to explore thoroughly what is happening to you, express thoughts and feelings, gain new insights or awareness to build confidence and ways to create a new vision for the future.

Wellbeing Coaching
Wellbeing , or wellness coaching, is practical, action orientated, and more obviously problem and solutions focused than counselling.
It is informed by psychological and change management theories with a strong emphasis on helping you develop greater self-awareness of how behaviours, thinking patterns and emotional responses contribute to difficulties and, importantly offers you ways that you can alter that.
It can be effective in developing ways to create greater emotional and mental wellbeing, as well as helping you problem solve or manage specific situations and make the most of new opportunities for personal growth and development.
I will work with you to identify goals, blocks and opportunities for change, assess personal strengths and difficulties to create a personalise change plan.
Wellbeing coaching can be very helpful for women experiencing difficulties managing the impact of some of the effects of the menopause such as increased anxiety, brain fog and emotional deregulation and disordered thinking.
Frequency: Coaching can be used two ways .
a ‘single session’ ( usually 75-90 minutes) approach where you can book individual sessions to focus on different issues as they arise to develop identifiable outcomes.
or a course of regular fortnightly sessions of 45 minutes over a period of time to help you get the outcomes you require.
Cost: £45 for regular 45 minute sessions
£75 for single 90 minute session
(reductions available- please feel free to ask)
